Eminem and Donald Trump: The Severed Alliance

Eminem and Donald Trump.

Eminem and Donald Trump may be adversaries now, but the truth of the matter is that the relationship between the two men was not always tense.

President Trump and Eminem once used to be “buddies” and had met each other on a number of occasions. For example in 2004, when the Grammy Award winning rapper organized a party for the promotion of his fifth studio album Encore (ƎNCORE) as well as the launch of his uncut hip-hop channel on SiriusXM Radio Shade 45, Trump made a surprise appearance at the party to support Eminem whom he called a “winner” . He also referred to Eminem as someone with “brains” and “guts” before going on to add that the rapper had “Donald Trump’s vote!”

In 2011, the then-future 45th President of the United States Trump once again publicly said something nice about Eminem when he referred to talented rapper Mac Miller as “the next Eminem”.

But a number of years later, the cordial relationship between Eminem and Donald Trump began to sour during the latter’s campaign for president of the United States in 2016, when he began making very controversial and divisive statements at campaign rallies and on social media.

Eminem, who just like countless other celebrities opposed to Trump’s ideologies and intentions, spoke out against Trump on multiple occasions, including on the song titled Campaign Speech, which was released in October 2016 shortly before Trump defeated Hillary Clinton to become the 45th President of the United States of America. In the song, Eminem called Trump a “f***ing loose cannon”.

In February 2017, Eminem made headline news again when he dissed President Trump for the second time in a song titled No Favors, which is off rapper Big Sean’s fourth studio album I Decided. In the song, Eminem calls president Trump a “b****” before going on to say he would make Trump’s “whole brand go under”. While it is really not clear what he actually meant when he said he would make Trump’s brand go under, what is crystal clear is the fact that he can no longer stomach Trump and is definitely not afraid to publicly slam one of the most powerful men on the planet!

President Trump is yet to comment on Eminem’s diss against him.

NOTE: This isn’t the first time Eminem has blatantly lashed out at a sitting President of the United States. In 2004, he blasted President George W. Bush in his famous protest song Mosh.
